Master Classes w/Lakshyan Schanzer

July 22-August 26, six consecutive Tuesdays 7-8:30p

Intermediate Yoga with Dr. Lakshyan Schanzer:  Go deeper into your yoga practice at your own pace. This course will introduce and transform a systematic series of beginners level therapeutic practice into a series of core alignment poses, standing and balancing poses, and greater depth of relaxation and breathing techniques. This program leads to a more aerobic and advanced level of practice.

About the instructor:  Dr. Lakshyan Schanzer  is one of few licensed psychologists who integrate the meditation state into psychotherapy practice, and as a yoga teacher for over 36 years and founder/director of one of New England’s first yoga studios (BodyMind Therapies and The -Garden City -Yoga Studio, 1979), he is one of the few yogis who has integrated/grounded his teaching of hatha yoga and meditation with the scientific wisdom of clinical psychology practice.  In addition to decades of clincal practice and training (particularly systemic, wholistic, and bodymind), Lakshyan’s yoga teaching is based on his personal training with many great yoga masters including Nisargadatta Maharaj, BKS Iyengar, and Swami Satchidananda.  Lakshyan currently divides his teaching time and psychotherapy consultation between Florianopolis, SC Brasil, and Rhode Island USA.
