Yoga for All Athletes, with Sage Rountree
Saturday October 9, 1-3:30
In this workshop appropriate for all levels of yoga and athletic experience, you’ll learn poses to increase flexibility, especially in the hips and legs; spend some time cultivating sport-specific core strength and playing with balance; and examine yoga as mental training, learning how incorporating this ancient approach can make you a better athlete. No matter what your sport is, you’ll leave with practical ways to incorporate yoga in your training to increase your flexibility, core strength, stability, and physical and mental endurance, while lowering your recovery time and risk of injury. All levels welcome, including beginners.
Sage Rountree, PhD, is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher and USA Triathlon, USA Cycling, and RRCA certified coach, as well as a Star 3 level Spinning instructor. She is author of The Athlete’s Guide to Yoga (VeloPress, 2008) and The Athlete’s Pocket Guide to Yoga (VeloPress, 2009); creator of The Athlete’s Guide to Yoga DVD (Endurance Films, 2008); and a contributor to Runner’s World and USA Triathlon Life.

8-week train-to-run program
with Tara Comer
Planning a Fall 5K or 1/2 marathon? Come Run! with focus.
Run! is an 8-week series led by USAT Triathlon Coach and focus yoga Teacher Tara S. Comer. The program is open to runners of all levles and abilities. Each class will focus on a theme to help you reach your goal: Pre and post-run stretch, Intuitive Running Form, Nutrition, Core Strength and Increasing Lung Capacity in addition to targeted work on the legs, hips and back to improve your fitness for the run. Each session will be followed by a run through East Greenwich, courses marked with varying mileage for all runners to enjoy.
In 8-weeks you will
- Improve strength, flexibility, and focus
- Increase physical and mental endurance and balance
- Avoid injury and recover faster
- Be ready to Run! your race or enjoy the sport with more ease and skill.
Tara will answer all your questions from nutrition to mileage. Join us
for a great stretch, a fun run and a great community of runners many training to participate in the Amica 1/2 and full marathon.
